Centchroman

First non-steroidal oral contraceptive, weak estrogen and potent antiestrogen with high therapeutic index, promise in management of post-menopausal osteoporosis, cancer breast and other hormone related disorders. Marketed as Saheli and Centron.

Centpropazine

New antidepressant with efficacy comparable to imipramine and distinctly less anticholinergic and cardiovascular side effects. Licensed to an Indian firm.

Centbutindole

Novel antipsychotic agent for management of schizophrenia, early onset of therapeutic action and less side effects. Licensed to an Indian firm.

Centbucridine

Infiltration nerve block anaesthesia, rapid onset of action, 4-5 times more potent than lignocaine, antihistaminic and vasoconstricter properties provide a wider safety profile. Marketed as Centoblok.

Gugulipid

Standardised fraction from Commiphora mukul has comparable hypolipidemic efficacy but better tolerated than synthetic drug clofibrate. Marketed as Guglip.

Arteether

A blood schizontocidal antimalarial from Artemisia annua for treatment of uncomplicated and complicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Marketed as E Mal.

Memory Plus

Standardised herbal preparation for memory and learning from Bacopa monniera. Marketed as Memory Plus.

Isaptent

From Plantago ovata is a simple device for dilatation of cervix in medical termination of pregnancy. Marketed as Dilex C.
