cities viz. Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore & Hyderabad;
Delhi by overnight train journey and 55 minutes flight.
Lucknow is famous for its fine culture comprising a
blend of hospitality, courtesy, good monuments, love
for music and art. However, in a modern perspective
it fast transformed into a centre for science, especially
biological sciences.
There are 4 laboratories under CSIR (CDRI, NBRI, CIMAP
& ITRC) and other research institutions viz. RDSO, Northern
Eastern Horticultural Research Institute, Sugarcane
Research Institute, to name a few selected ones, all
situated at Lucknow. Besides, there are other premier
institutions viz. Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute
of Medical Sciences, King George's Medical College and

Lucknow has some of the best schooling facilities
- coeducational, and separately for boys and girls.
The available public transport facilities comprise private
taxis, maxicabs and ubiquitous man-pulled rickshaws.
Campus accommodation is available to scientists/trainees
against advance booking and is subject to availability.
Climatically Lucknow is more like Delhi and covers both
extremes: summers touching 40-42°C (May-June) and winters

is the best to visit Lucknow.
Lucknow is considered to be a city with a low
