impaired wound, gastric ulcers, inflammation,

In addition to the above, the scientists
in this research area are deeply engaged
in the development of predictive
in vivo and
in vitro paradigms including
HTS target assays for bioactivity evaluation
besides safely pharmacological studies of
candidate drugs. QSAR and computer aided
molecular modeling for rational designing
and combinational sysnthesis of new compounds.

| The area is enriched by basic
studies involving role of nitric oxide in
the modulation of neutrophil functions ( phagocytosis,
apoptosis, free radical generation) cerebral
ischemia, nociception and cardiovascular regulation.
Elevated Lp(a) and its correlation with risk
of coronary heart disease, acetyl cholinesterase
in cognitive deficit and biochemical correlates
in stress responses are currently being actively
pursued in this programme. Electrophysiological
and neurochemical investigations for analyzing
the mechanism of action of drug candidates
are important components of this area. |
