POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH

Nov 2001 - Sep 2006 Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge
Cambridge
, England - Structure elucidation of protein-protein complexes, understanding helical assemblies
CURRENT RESEARCH AREAS

The group works primarily on the structural and functional characterization of proteins from pathogens, with emphasis on Leishmania.  The proteins are chosen based on their importance to the pathogen and significant differences with their human homologues.  The study incorporates aspects of molecular biology, protein biochemistry, in silico analysis and X-ray crystallography

The group is also interested in the mechanistic aspects of helical assembly, especially in coiled-coils and helical bundles
