Research Interests

Our lab is interested to understand the protein quality control processes adopted by a cell during stress and infection. We are using different biological systems to decipher the cross-talk between components of protein folding, degradation and ribosomal machinery which helps to maintain cellular homeostasis.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2009-13: Post-Doctoral Fellow at Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry
Investigated the conformation of Ribosome-Nascent Chain complexes and how the conformational dynamics of nascent chain is affected upon its interaction with chaperones

2004-09: Ph.D. at CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology
Investigated the structural transition between unusual secondary structures formed by Guanines rich sequences (Quadruplexes) and Watson-Crick duplex, and how this structural equilibrium modulate their respective biological functions

2005-06: Marie Curie Early Stage Research fellow at Southern Denmark University
Investigated the role of modified nucleic acids (Locked Nucleic Acids) on the structure and thermodynamics of alternative secondary structures (Triplexes and i-Motifs)
