Anti-Stress
and anti-Ulcer
(Team: M Dikshit and R Maurya) |
|
Plants extracts and
compounds are being evaluated for anti-ulcer
activity in various acute gastric ulcer
models in rats and duodenal ulcer in guinea
pigs. To ascertain the ulcer healing potentials
the active compounds have been tested in
chronic gastric ulcer models. Additionally,
the test compounds are evaluated for the
proton pump inhibitory activity to assess
the molecular mechanisms.

An acute
model of reflux esophagitis in rats is also
used. The compounds are been screened for
their protective effect against mucosal damage
induced due to gastric content reflux into
esophagus. |
